Board Meeting Agendas

Agenda packages for public board meetings are posted on the Friday before the meeting. Any items not available in time to be included in the agenda package will be distributed at the meeting.

Occasionally, items may be added to the agenda after it has been posted. If this occurs prior to the meeting commencing, the revised agenda package will be updated and re-posted to the website.

The meetings start at 6:00pm and are held in the District Education Office at 22225 Brown Avenue, Maple Ridge.

Invitation for Public Input

Members of the public can provide input on decision items on the public meeting Agenda in writing by emailing board@sd42.ca by no later than 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. The email subject line should read: INPUT Regarding Decision Item. All public input received will be shared with trustees electronically.

Question Period

Question period will be restricted to questions only – statements and debate will not be permitted. Questions, with the exception of trustee questions, will be limited to one question per person. Members of the public can submit questions for the board by emailing them to board@sd42.ca by no later than 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. The email subject line should read: QUESTION PERIOD. Questions will be answered in the order they are received before the start of the question period. This agenda item has a time limit of 10 minutes; extension is at the discretion of the board

Expected Behavior of Audience and Presenters

In public Board of Education meetings, all attendees, including the audience and presenters, are expected to behave respectfully and professionally. Audience members should listen attentively, avoid disruptions, and show respect to everyone present. They should follow the established procedures for commenting or asking questions and refrain from personal attacks or derogatory language. Presenters should deliver clear and concise presentations, treat all participants with respect, and support their arguments with relevant information. Following these expectations will create a productive and respectful environment for meaningful discussions and decision-making.
