As part of ongoing site preparation for the new Pitt Meadows Secondary School, crews will be carrying out soil compaction work beginning Monday, October 19. This involves using specialized equipment to compress and stabilize the fill material, helping to ensure the ground is properly prepared for future construction.
The work will take place along the south side of the existing school building, beginning at the west end and progressing east. It is expected to continue throughout next week, during the contractor’s regular working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Due to the proximity of the work to the existing school building, some noise and vibration may be heard or felt inside the school. The activity is expected to occur in cycles of approximately 60-90 minutes of work, with breaks of approximately 30 minutes between work periods.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as this important site preparation work gets underway.
