2016 Leaders of Tomorrow: Isaac MacDicken, Garibaldi

Over his five years at Garibaldi, Isaac MacDicken contributed to our community both in the classroom and through his many leadership endeavors within the school.  Isaac is an intelligent, honest and determined young person.

Isaac displays unique leadership qualities that not only enabled him to excel, but helped to create a positive energy within the school. Isaac is always enthusiastic and open-minded.

Isaac has been a member of Rebels For A Cause (the Student Action Team) and student government since Grade 8 as well as participated in Peer Leadership and Key Club.  As a member of the Student Action Team, Isaac participates to support causes such as ‘Me to We’ and ‘Free the Children’; GSS is currently fundraising towards meeting our “education pillar” and to build a school in Ecuador.

Isaac’s commitment and work with these groups also extends into his community.  Isaac is a martial arts instructor with various age groups and also performs various volunteer duties and activities with the school.

Simply put, Isaac has been a wonderful student, leader, and ambassador to Garibaldi Secondary.

About Leaders of Tomorrow

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.

The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2015/16 school year – there are many others  who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom. ?

Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2016 Leaders of Tomorrow.
