2019 Leaders of Tomorrow: Ryleigh Meredith, Albion

When the Albion Elementary community thinks of leaders in our school, the name Ryleigh Meredith always comes to mind.

As a member of the school leadership committee, she has played an integral role in organizing and running events to raise awareness for causes such as the SPCA and Children’s Hospital. Other memorable leadership moments include attending WE Day and representing Albion at Student Voice meetings.

Ryleigh enjoys being a role model for the younger students at her school; she is a lunchtime monitor, an emcee at monthly assemblies, and can also be heard on the morning announcements. Her hard work and enthusiasm have played a key role in the success of events such as the Albion Remembrance Day assembly, WE Scare Hunger, and WE Walk for Water.

Ryleigh will be attending Samuel Robertson Technical in 2019/20 and hopes to continue to be involved in events that help other people. When asked what advice she might give others, her reply was: “Never give up on what you believe in!” Inspirational advice from an amazing leader!

About Leaders of Tomorrow

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.

The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2018/19 school year – there are many others who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom. Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2019 Leaders of Tomorrow.
