Leaders of Tomorrow: Pamela Milani – Garibaldi

Pamela is an intelligent, honest and determined Grade 12 leadership student at Garibaldi Secondary. In the classroom, Pamela displayed unique leadership qualities that not only enabled her to excel but also helped to create a positive energy within the classroom.

Pamela has also been a member of the Garibaldi student action team, Rebels For A Cause, for the past five years and demonstrated amazing dedication to the school.

She has displayed incredible confidence in various leadership roles where she has planned, organized and carried out numerous campaigns, such as Christmas Candy Grams and We Create Change to raise awareness about local and global issues while fundraising to build a school and a well in Ecuador.

In the process, Pamela has created trusting relationships with her peers and teaching staff. In the process, Pamela became a role model for her classmates, someone who was enthusiastic and open-minded and, more importantly, someone they could depend on. These same leadership qualities that have enabled Pamela to achieve an excellent academic record can also be seen in other areas of the school as well as in her community. During the 2016-17 school year, Pamela took on the added responsibility of becoming a member of the grad committee where she helped plan and coordinate grad activities to raise funds for her graduating class.

About Leaders of Tomorrow

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.

The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2016/17 school year – there are many others  who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.

Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2017 Leaders of Tomorrow.
