#FridayReads: Dear Dandelion, be resilient

Indigenous education helping teacher Jocelyn McIntosh recommends Âmî Osâwâpikones (Dear Dandelion) by SJ Okemow to celebrate the start of summer.

Dear Dandelion is a beautiful Cree (Nehiyawak) story of resilience. This story is positive and uplifting, reminding us about beauty and loving ourselves during difficult times.

I chose this book as I learn more about my own Métis culture and learn the language of Northern Cree Michif.

I hope when you see a dandelion, you will think of this wonderful story of resilience and bringing joy to others.

Âmî Osâwâpikones (Dear Dandelion) is available in SD42 libraries.
