Community dinners are starting up again at Maple Ridge Secondary School.
Meals are prepared by students of the school’s culinary program and cost only $15 for a three course dinner, with money going back into the program.
The first dinner will take place on Thursday, Oct. 2nd and will start with focaccia bread and Caesar salad, followed by penne with tomato sauce, local farm fresh vegetables and chicken parmesan, and finish with a double chocolate brownie for dessert.
Program head Chef Randle said his students look forward to the weekly community dinners, which give them an opportunity to cook different meals and serve them to the public.
They cost a fraction of what someone would pay if dining out at a restaurant or fast food restaurant, said Randle, and they allow community members to have a nutritious meal, being able to taste the amazing dishes the culinary students are creating.
