Flags at district facilities will be flown at half-mast starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5, to honour the life and legacy of Justice Murray Sinclair, Manitoba’s first Indigenous judge and leader of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In accordance with British Columbia’s policy on half-masting and district policy, flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of Justice Sinclair’s funeral.

Please note that the cross-country races scheduled for Thursday, October 24, 2024, have been moved to the Albion Sports Complex, as the original venue (Golden Ears Park) is no longer safe to use due to the heavy rainfall over the past weekend. All race times remain the same.

On July 11, 2024, we shared with families that the school district would be changing the child care operator at six of its existing sites – Edith McDermott Elementary, Eric Langton Elementary, Glenwood Elementary, Maple Ridge Elementary, Fairview Elementary, and Maple Ridge Secondary. 

Since then, we have heard from many families currently accessing these child care services.

As the 2023/24 school year ends for most of our schools, I am also concluding my first 100 days as the new Superintendent of Schools for the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District. The goal of my first 100 days was to prioritize learning the culture and context of this district.
