2017 Leaders of Tomorrow: Cealan Brennan – Maple Ridge Elementary

Cealan is our Leader of Tomorrow at MRE for the 2016-17 school year because she is always thinking about others and trying to imagine ways to make their lives better. She is a very calm and intuitive person who can handle any situation with grace and poise.

Cealan is on our DSAC team and often arranges rides for all 10 members to meetings. She is a vital member of our school leadership group. She has emceed assemblies, served as an office and lunch monitor, operated the audio visual parts of our school concerts and can generally be relied on to represent our school’s mission statement perfectly.

When she learned that money raised by Rafiki bracelet sales went directly to needy people in Third World countries, she singlehandedly went door to door in her neighborhood and sold $260 worth! She also organized a fundraising bake sale for one of our primary students who is battling cancer. This bake sale netted over $760 as two other classes joined with hers to make it the biggest bake sale in MRE history! There is no doubt that Cealan will continue to do amazing work in her community and serve as an inspiration to all who know her.

About Leaders of Tomorrow

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) has teamed up with the Maple Ridge News to celebrate local students who are making a difference at school and in the community. Elementary and secondary students featured as Leaders of Tomorrow were picked by their principals for making positive achievements in academics, sports, arts and community involvement.

The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2016/17 school year – there are many others  who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.

Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2017 Leaders of Tomorrow.
