Welcome
The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) is exploring potential secondary school schedule changes informed by feedback from staff, student, and families.
Currently, all SD42 secondary schools follow a linear schedule, with students taking up to eight classes across the full school year. Moving forward, some schools may continue with this model, while others may transition to a semester schedule, where students take up to four classes per semester, with two semesters in a school year.
Decisions about schedule models will be made on a school-by-school basis, informed by survey input and guiding considerations. You can learn more about the engagement framework and see a comparison of linear and semester schedules at: sd42.ca/secondary-scheduling-engagement
Any approved changes would begin in the 2026/27 school year.
Your Input
If you work at a secondary school, please answer based on your experience at that school. If you work across multiple schools or at the district level, your input will help us understand how different schedules may affect staff and students across SD42.
