The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District is proud to offer 2017 summer learning opportunities at both the elementary and the secondary level from July to August. Secondary Summer Learning 2017

Last day of classes: Wednesday July 26
Report Card Pick-up: Thursday July 27 at Thomas Haney
*After July 27, report cards are available at Riverside Centre (20575 Thorne Avenue)

August Provincial Exam Schedule (location Thomas Haney Secondary):

August 14 English 12 (9:00 to 11:00am)
August 15 Communications 12 (9:00 to 11:00am)

  • Arrive 30 minutes before the start time
  • Bring photo ID and your PEN number (located on your report card)
Elementary Summer Learning 2017

Last day of classes: Friday July 21
Report Card Pick-up: Friday July 21 from your zone teacher

UPDATE: Grade 7 Elementary Summer Learning 2017 ***Program Cancelled
Wednesday, July 5 to Friday, July 21, 2017

***This program has been cancelled due low enrolment numbers. We apologize for the inconvenience. 

 

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District is offering two summer learning programs for all current Grade 7 students. The programs run from July 5 – July 21, 2017 at Maple Ridge Secondary School.

Students can choose ONE of the following two programs: 

  • Program 1: Applied Skills – Woodwork, Metalwork and Digital Media
  • Program 2: Applied Skills/Fine Arts – Culinary Arts/Nutrition, Art, Movement

The programs will offer students an opportunity to build transferrable life skills that will benefit them with their transition to high school and beyond.

Back by popular demand!

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) is once again offering a summer learning opportunity for elementary aged students (grades K-6) currently attending our schools.

Maple Ridge Parks, Recreation & Culture in partnership with School District No. 42 is also offering an afternoon outdoor, play-based day camp for students registered in summer school.

A separate summer learning program is available for children in Grade 7 transitioning to Grade 8 (see next accordion below).

Our mission is to provide engaging learning opportunities that will support your child’s long-term development and inspire your child to reach his or her full potential.

Secondary Summer Learning 2017 - Full Credit Courses
Wednesday, July 5 to Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Get ahead of your credits or improve your GPA! The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District is offering Summer Learning full credit courses at Thomas Haney Secondary School starting July 5, 2017.

The courses offered are for full credit in Grades 10, 11 and 12 in a variety of academic subject areas.

ONLINE REGISTRATION will be OPEN from May 8 to May 31, 2017 (noon)

Program information at a glance:

Location: Thomas Haney Secondary School (THSS)

Dates: July 5 – 26 

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm daily 

Attendance requirement: Daily attendance from the start of the course is mandatory due to the shortened program dates. 

Please note: International student course fee $600.00 (payable at Riverside Centre, 20575 Thorne Avenue, prior to start of course). There will be no refund after course starts on July 5. A $40 fee will charged if the student withdraws before June 28, 2017.

Attention June 2017 Graduates: As per Ministry of Education guidelines, June 2017 graduates and adult students are no longer eligible to register for Secondary Summer Learning. Please see your counsellor or academic advisor for alternative program options.

Online Secondary Summer Learning 2017
Wednesday, May 3 to Wednesday, July 26, 2017

The Connected Learning Community (SD42 CLC) is offering a fast track online learning option for students. Visit http://clc.sd42.ca to view course options for Grades 10, 11 and 12.

Online Registration ONLY through the CLC website: http://clc.sd42.ca/

  • Online registration OPENS Monday, April 3, 2017. You must use the Summer Learning Registration form for this program.
  • Online registration CLOSES Friday, April 14, 2017.
  • Courses begin May 3, 2017. Registered students will receive an email with additional information.
  • Completion expected July 26, 2017. Students will receive final report cards by email.
     

International course fees are $600.00 per course, payable at Riverside Centre prior to enrolment confirmation.

 

Attention June 2017 Graduates:

As per the Ministry of Education guidelines, you are not eligible to enrol in the July 2017 Summer Learning program offered at Thomas Haney.

This online program is the only opportunity you will have before the end of the school year to upgrade a course/mark or take an additional course to add to your transcript. Be sure to discuss this with your school counselor.

Day camp for students registered in summer school

Maple Ridge Parks, Recreation & Culture in partnership with School District No. 42 is offering an afternoon outdoor, play-based day camp for students registered in summer school. These camps will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.
