DESCRIPTION:Alouette Elementary \n 22155 Isaac Crescent\n Maple Ridge \n* A second information night is scheduled for Thursday\, March 2\, 2017 \n  \nSeptember 2017 Entry for The Wheelhouse @ Alouette \nThe Wheelhouse at Alouette Elementary will soon be accepting registrations for its 5th year as a district choice program in elementary. The Wheelhouse program is proud to be a student-centred learning environment with a strong focus on community engagement\, developing leadership\, and nurturing individual curiosity. \nThe Wheelhouse is a classroom in which students are both challenged and supported in becoming life-long learners and responsible citizens. Students in this program take action in their community\, develop greater self-confidence\, and have a strong sense of care for their classmates and school. \nIn The Wheelhouse\, everyone is encouraged to work hard\, ask questions\, share experiences\, take risks and learn from mistakes along the way. With teacher and mentor support\, students create a learning community in which all students respect and cherish each other\, and support their peers to be the best individuals they can be. \n  \nHighlights of the program include: \n\nWeekly Field Study Days where students learn outside the regular class setting;\nA classroom of care and discovery that is well supported by caring staff\, parents and community mentors;\nLeadership activities that improve confidence\, citizenship\, and social responsibility;\nWheelhouse students are also part of the District 1-to-1 program\, where each student is assigned an iPad for personal use throughout the school year.\n\nYou are invited to attend one of two upcoming Information Sessions: \nTuesday\, February 28 from 6:00-7:00pm at Alouette Elementary\n Thursday\, March 2 from 6:00-7:00 at Alouette Elementary \nThis program option is open to all students in School District 42 who will be going into Grades 6 and 7 in September 2017\, and who are a good “fit” for this style of learning. \nThe Wheelhouse is a unique program\, and it is important for your entire family to consider the choice carefully for your student. SUMMARY:CyberSchool: Parent Information Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Alouette Elementary\n 22155 Isaac Crescent\n Maple Ridge \n  \nCyberSchool allows SD42 students to work at school three days a week and work from home online the other two – while still interacting with the class. Some of the benefits of this program include the application of technology\, collaboration in both online and face-to-face environments\, and the development of independent working skills. \nCyberSchool students are also part of the one-to-one District Device Program and students will receive the use of an iPad to participate in the program. This option is open to all  students in School District 42 who will be going into Grades 6 and 7 in September 2017. \nRegistration for Cyberschool starts March 6 at Alouette Elementary at 8 am.
