  • Second Open House and Online Survey: June 14, 2023

At the June 14, 2023, second open house, Station One Architects (SoA) reported on the feedback received from our community, and addressed how this input influenced the proposed Eric Langton Elementary school design. Attendees also had a further opportunity to provide their perspectives on the proposed designs.

Those who were unable to attend the second open house but wanted to provide additional feedback, were able to participate in our second online survey, which was open from June 15 to 4 pm June 22, 2023

    How feedback influenced design

A summary document of all feedback received with notes on how this feedback influenced design is available in our updated Public Engagement Summary document.

You may also download the renderings of the proposed design here. Please note this is a large file (15MB) and may take a few moments to download.

  • First Open House and Online Survey: April 13, 2023

On April 13, 2023, Station One Architects (SOA) and the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District hosted a public input session at which SoA presented a draft of the design and collected ideas on the general use of the building, the site, and on program suggestions for the Neighbourhood Learning Centre (NLC) that will be hosted in the new school.

Community members who were unable to attend in-person and wanted to participate in the process had an opportunity to provide feedback through our online survey, which was open from April 14, 2023, to April 28, 2023.

Project timeline
Where are we in the process?

Updated January 2024:

The project timeline below was updated January 2024, and reflects the incorporation of a child care addition, as approved by the Ministry of Education and Child Care in September 2023. Changes to the timeline also include adjustment to construction start (anticipated January 2024, adjusted to April 2024) and school opening (anticipated September 2025, adjusted to January 2026). As delays in the construction sector have become quite common in recent years, there is potential for further changes to the timelines as the project progresses.

The next update will be posted April 2024.

What is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre?

Neighbourhood Learning Centres are inviting places where everyone can access education, community services, recreation and culture. Every centre is unique, offering programs and services most relevant to its community members.

A Neighbourhood Learning Centre is funded by the Ministry of Education and Child Care, is physically integrated within the school, and offers services complementary to the educational programming within the school.
