Academics

Pitt Meadows Secondary School is a dual-track English and French Immersion school of just under 1,000 students that offers a variety of regular, honours and enrichment courses, including gifted programming. Students can choose from several university prep and vocational programs that follow a linear September-June schedule. Also featured is a daily one-hour FLEX block that allows students to choose their learning activity and location, thus promoting independence, ownership and personalization.

Fine Arts

PMSS features programs in visual, theatre and musical arts. Visual arts students produce top-quality 2D and 3D pieces of work that are regularly displayed throughout the community of Pitt Meadows. The music program features both beginner and advanced concert band and guitar classes while PMSS also offers drama/theatre classes at all grade levels.

Unique features

PMSS is home to the Pacific Room Hockey Academy, a program popular with both local and international students. The Grade 8 ‘transition’ program provides a ‘podded’ approach to learning and thus eases the transition from elementary to secondary school. Also included in our Grade 8 and 9 years is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)/Laptop program that promotes computer enhanced academic instruction and learning.
