Maple Ridge, BC: School District No. 42 (Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows) is estimating that it will be facing a budget funding shortfall for 2013/2014. The precise magnitude of the shortfall cannot be accurately determined before the 2013/2014 Operating Grant is announced by the Ministry of Education on March 15, 2013.
In accordance with the School Act, school districts in the province must approve a balanced budget and submit it to the Ministry of Education by June 30, 2013. We will develop a balanced budget that addresses the needs of our community of learners, reflects shared priorities, and supports our vision.
As we begin planning for 2013/2014, we invite you to help us develop our budget by sharing your thoughts on how we should create a balanced budget that addresses our priorities and remains fiscally responsible.
Through this survey we would like to hear your budget priorities and thoughts regarding the Board’s revenues and expenditures. We urge you to participate by completing the online budget survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/201314BudgetSurvey. Your participation will help ensure that budget priorities encompass the most pressing needs of our school district.
