School District No. 42 is proud to announce the first issue of SD42 Connections, a new quarterly magazine for parents and students in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

The magazine is intended to provide practical information for parents of school age children, and showcase some of the amazing things going on in classrooms across School District No. 42. It is supported by advertising, which means there is no cost to the school district.

The magazine is called SD42 Connections because all its stories reveal some part of the many important connections that exist within our community: the connection between parent and child, between teacher and student, between school and community, between the school district and its many community partners.

The first issue features favourite books for boys, and profiles how students in grades 6 and 7 have been using technology to discover more about their communities. Other articles include using everyday activities to make math fun, and what to expect if making the big leap to high school. Readers will also discover that our libraries, museums, art gallery and Parks and Leisure Services have many activities guaranteed to keep youngsters engaged throughout the summer months.
