One-to-One Laptop Program
The One-to-One Laptop Program is in its sixth year. The program focuses on inquiry based learning to teach higher thinking skills. In addition to improving thinking skills, we have found that the laptops make it easier for a wide range of students to be successful, and easier for teachers to meet the needs of all students in the classroom while better preparing students for their future.
There are twenty-seven classes of grade 6 and 7 students in the Laptop Program. Each student receives a MacBook laptop to keep from late September to June. Parent meetings are held at each school in September, and students receive their laptops after signing acceptable use and basic care agreements.
Here are some inquiry project samples from May 2011.
