2016 Leaders of Tomorrow: Gina Dhinsa – SRT

During the 2015-16 school year, Gina Dhinsa attended Samuel Robertson Technical, where she is a very active student leader.

Gina, a Student Council Executive, has helped organize almost every event hosted at SRT, including our Annual Spirit Week and Assemblies, our annual Poetry Slam and a Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Fundraiser.

She also organized a student vote during the last federal election, and convinced all of the political candidates to present their platform to our students at SRT. In the community, Gina is a member of the Young Liberals of Maple Ridge Club and and a Breast Health Ambassador for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Gina is also one of our top academic students.  She has been a Top Titan (straight A’s) for every report card since her Grade 8 year! Gina is passionate about making a global  difference by raising funds and awareness for equal access to education for female rights in developing nations.

Gina has already received the President’s Entrance Scholarship at the University of the Fraser Valley where she will pursue studies in the Global Development Program. She intends to pursue a career in politics and the SRT staff is confident that we will some day vote for Gina as Prime Minister of Canada!

The list is just a sample of outstanding students in the school district selected by their school during the 2015/16 school year – there are many others  who were equally deserving of recognition for their exemplary achievements both inside and outside the classroom.

Every Tuesday throughout the school year, SD42 will profile a student selected as one of the 2016 Leaders of Tomorrow.
