2014- 2015 School Bus Transportation
The following information does not include Special Needs Bus Services which will be handled separately.
Homestay parents of international students must register for transportation through the International Education Department at Riverside Centre 604-466-6555.
The following schools receive school bus service: Highland Park Elementary; Webster’s Corners Elementary; Whonnock Elementary; Garibaldi Secondary; Pitt Meadows Secondary; and Samuel Robertson Secondary.
Eligibility for transportation is defined in SD42 Policy 5400.
Families are requested to submit applications to register for school bus service for the upcoming year. Bus routes will be developed based on the applications received. Please note that all routes will be reviewed in the fall and may be adjusted or combined where appropriate.
The application period is from June 16, 2014 to August 22, 2014 (this deadline has been extended from August 15).
The Board of Education has established that Starting September 2014 all students riding a school bus are required to pay for this service. The rates are as follows: First child/year $215; Second child/year $215; Third child/year $100; and Fourth child/year $100.
APPLICATIONS AND PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 22, 2014 (this deadline has been extended from August 15).
Applications and payments made after August 22, 2014 will only be considered if there is seating space available on existing routes.
Once the application has been received and eligibility determined you will be notified to make your payment.
Payments can be made by credit card through the SD42 “Parent Portal” or by cash or cheque delivered to the District Education Office.
Applications can be made through this website or forms can be picked up from the main reception desk at the District Education Office at 22225 Brown Ave., Maple Ridge.
We are continuing the practice of maintaining student rosters and seating plans, as they are essential to the protection of your children. The school bus contractor is First Student Canada. Their telephone number is 604-465-5055.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
On the first day of classes, all schools have their specific early dismissal times and therefore, the homeward bound schedule will not apply for this day. We will endeavor to accommodate the schools as best we can but parents should expect some delays.
Please make sure your child is at the stop at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
